Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun and Drive to Sankri (Drive – 200 km | 7-8 hrs)

Arrive in Dehradun and meet the expedition team. Start your drive to Sankri, a picturesque village located in the Govind Pashu Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary. The drive offers scenic views of the Yamuna River and the surrounding forests. Arrive in Sankri by evening and check-in at a guesthouse or camp for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Sankri to Seema Village (Trek – 10 km)

Start your trek to Seema Village, a quaint settlement at the base of the Black Peak massif. The trek offers a gentle ascent through dense oak and pine forests, with occasional glimpses of the peaks. Seema is a peaceful village, and once you reach, you’ll camp overnight and rest for the next day.

Day 3: Seema Village to Taluka (Trek – 10 km)

Continue your trek towards Taluka, a beautiful meadow at the base of the Black Peak massif. The trail ascends through alpine meadows and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. Upon reaching Taluka, set up camp and rest for the night.

Day 4-5: Taluka to Base Camp (Trek – 14 km)

These two days will be dedicated to acclimatization and preparing for the summit attempt. Trek to Base Camp, which is situated near the Kalanag Glacier at an altitude of around 4,500 meters. The route involves crossing rocky terrain, moraine fields, and glacial streams. At Base Camp, undergo mountaineering training on glacier travel, ice climbing, and other techniques required for the summit.

Day 6-8: Base Camp to Camp 1 (Climbing Days)

From Base Camp, begin your ascent towards Camp 1, which will be set at a higher altitude along the mountain’s slopes. This section of the climb will involve technical snow and ice climbing. The route requires using crampons, ice axes, and ropes for safety. The climb is physically demanding, but the views of the Gangotri Glacier and surrounding peaks make it worthwhile. Spend a few days at Camp 1 for further acclimatization and rest before continuing the ascent.

Day 9-11: Camp 1 to Camp 2 (Summit Push Preparation)

After acclimatizing and preparing at Camp 1, continue the climb towards Camp 2, which is located closer to the summit. This part of the climb involves steeper rock and ice sections. The altitude increases, making the climb progressively more challenging. Once at Camp 2, rest, and get ready for the final summit push. The views of Swargarohini, Bandarpunch, and Kalanag are magnificent from here.

Day 12-13: Summit Push (Black Peak Summit Attempt)

The summit push begins early in the morning to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and minimize the risks of avalanches. The final ascent to the top of Black Peak is challenging, involving a mix of ice climbing, rock climbing, and snow traversing. The summit is a thrilling experience, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. Once on top, you’ll have time to take in the stunning landscape and click photos. Afterward, begin the descent back to Camp 2, taking care to ensure safe navigation.

Day 14: Descent to Base Camp and Return Trek to Sankri (Trek – 24 km)

After reaching Camp 2 and ensuring you’ve rested, descend to Base Camp and then continue back down to Taluka. The descent is quicker but requires careful navigation through the rocky and snowy sections. Once at Taluka, take a rest and then drive back to Sankri. From Sankri, you’ll return to Dehradun by evening, marking the end of the expedition.

  • Lunch: Roti/Chapati, Rice/Chawal, Manchurian Rice, Salad, Dal (Rajma/Mixed Dal), Mixed-Veg, Kofta Curry.

  • Snacks: Tea/Coffee, Pakoda, Finger Chips, Veg Cutlet, Maggi, Soup, Popcorn.

  • Dinner: Roti/Chapati, Rice/Chawal, Matar Paneer, Mixed Dal, Salad, Papad, Sweets (Gulab Jamun, Jalebi), Fruit Custard.

How to Reach

  • Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (approx. 200 km from Sankri).

  • Regular flights are available from Delhi and other major cities.
  • Nearest Railway Station: Dehradun Railway Station, well-connected to Delhi, Haridwar, and other major stations.
  • Overnight buses and taxis are available from Delhi to Dehradun.

  • From Dehradun, a drive to Sankri will be arranged by the expedition operator.

Cancellation Due to Unforeseen Events:
  • If we cancel the trek due to unexpected situations like natural disasters, floods, or political unrest, we will issue a trek voucher instead of a refund. This voucher is valid for one year and can be used for the same or a different trek.

     

Cancellation Due to Personal Reasons:

If you cancel your trek for personal reasons, the following policy applies:

  • No Cash Refunds: We do not provide cash refunds. Instead, a voucher will be issued.

  • Cancellation 30 Days or More Before Trek: A voucher for the full booking amount will be issued.

  • Cancellation 20–29 Days Before Trek: 50% of the booking amount will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be provided as a voucher.

  • Cancellation Less Than 20 Days Before Trek: No voucher will be issued.
