The Hampta Pass Trek is one of the most scenic crossover treks in Himachal Pradesh. It offers a unique contrast of lush green valleys of Kullu with the barren, high-altitude deserts of Spiti. You pass through forests, meadows, glaciers, and river crossings, ending at the majestic Chandratal Lake (if weather permits). Ideal for beginners and experienced trekkers alike, this trail gives you a taste of different terrains in just a few days.
Drive from Manali to Jobra (2 hours).
Trek through pine forests and grassy meadows to Chika campsite.
Distance: 2 km | Duration: 2–3 hours.
Trail follows the Hampta river, crossing boulder sections and streams.
Camp at Balu Ka Ghera, a stunning open valley with mountain views.
Distance: 5 km | Duration: 5 hours.
Most challenging and scenic day of the trek.
Steep climb to Hampta Pass, enjoy panoramic views.
Descend to Shea Goru in Spiti Valley.
Distance: 10 km | Duration: 8–9 hours.
Easy downhill walk to Chhatru. Road conditions permitting, drive to Chandratal Lake.
Return to Chhatru camp.
Distance: 6 km trek + 70 km drive (optional) | Duration: 3–4 hours trek.
Scenic drive via Rohtang Pass back to Manali.
Trek concludes with unforgettable memories.
Breakfast: Wake-up Tea/Coffee, Biscuits, Aloo Paratha with Achaar, Boiled Egg, Bread with Butter/Jam, Fresh Fruits.
Lunch: Roti/Chapati, Rice/Chawal, Manchurian Rice, Salad, Dal (Rajma/Mixed Dal), Mixed-Veg, Kofta Curry.

Nearest Airport: Bhuntar Airport (Kullu) – 50 km from Manali.
Limited flights from Delhi/Chandigarh. Taxi available to Manali (2 hours).
Nearest Station: Joginder Nagar (165 km from Manali) – limited trains.
Better Option: Chandigarh Railway Station (310 km) – regular trains from all major cities.
Buses/taxis available from both stations.
From Delhi: Overnight Volvo buses take 12–14 hours to reach Manali.
From Chandigarh: 8–9 hours by bus/taxi.
Manali is well-connected by HRTC and private bus operators.

If we cancel the trek due to unexpected situations like natural disasters, floods, or political unrest, we will issue a trek voucher instead of a refund. This voucher is valid for one year and can be used for the same or a different trek.
If you cancel your trek for personal reasons, the following policy applies:
No Cash Refunds: We do not provide cash refunds. Instead, a voucher will be issued.
Cancellation 30 Days or More Before Trek: A voucher for the full booking amount will be issued.
Cancellation 20–29 Days Before Trek: 50% of the booking amount will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be provided as a voucher.
Cancellation Less Than 20 Days Before Trek: No voucher will be issued.
The best time is from mid-June to the end of September, when the pass is accessible, and the views are spectacular.
Yes, it is safe and well-guided, especially when done with a reputed trek operator.
Most people adapt well, but symptoms like headache or fatigue are possible above 10,000 ft. Our team takes all precautions and maintains a slow, steady pace.
