Hidden between the borders of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, Baraadsar Lake Trek is a lesser-explored gem located at a high altitude of 4,400 meters (14,435 ft). It’s a pristine glacial lake, considered sacred by locals, and offers breathtaking views of both the Kinnaur and Garhwal Himalayan ranges. The trail takes you through thick pine and oak forests, open meadows, and snow-covered trails—making it perfect for adventure lovers seeking raw, untouched beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri (Drive – 200 km | 8-9 hrs)
  • Pickup from Dehradun early morning.

  • Scenic drive through Mussoorie, Purola, and Mori along the Tons River.

  • Reach Sankri by evening. Overnight stay in guesthouse or homestay.
Day 2: Sankri to Bhitri Village (Drive – 1 hr) and trek to Daldhar (Trek – 5 km)
  • Short drive to Bhitri Village, the base camp.

  • Begin trekking through dense forest and local shepherd trails.

  • Reach Daldhar, a lush campsite with views of Rupin and Supin valleys.
Day 3: Daldhar to Noila Thatch (Trek – 7 km)
  • Steady climb through rhododendron and oak forest.

  • Cross meadows and enjoy panoramic views of Swargarohini and Kalanag peaks.

  • Camp at Noila Thatch – open high-altitude meadow.
Day 4: Noila Thatch to Baradsar Lake and back to Noila (Trek – 10 km)
  • Early morning push to Baradsar Lake.

  • The last stretch includes snow patches and ridge walk.

  • Spend time at the sacred lake surrounded by high mountain walls.

  • Return to Noila Thatch for overnight stay.
Day 5: Noila Thatch to Daldhar (Trek – 7 km)
  • Descend back to Daldhar following the same scenic trail.

  • Camp amidst forested beauty.
Day 6: Daldhar to Bhitri and drive back to Sankri (Trek – 5 km | Drive – 1 hr)
  • Trek back to Bhitri and drive to Sankri.

  • Enjoy local food and rest.
Day 7: Sankri to Dehradun (Drive – 200 km | 8-9 hrs)
  • Depart early for Dehradun.

  • Reach by evening with unforgettable memories.

  • Breakfast: Wake-up Tea/Coffee, Biscuits, Aloo Paratha with Achaar, Boiled Egg, Bread with Butter/Jam, Fresh Fruits.

  • Lunch: Roti/Chapati, Rice/Chawal, Manchurian Rice, Salad, Dal (Rajma/Mixed Dal), Mixed-Veg, Kofta Curry.

  • Snacks: Tea/Coffee, Pakoda, Finger Chips, Veg Cutlet, Maggi, Soup, Popcorn.

  • Overnight buses and taxis available from Delhi to Dehradun

Cancellation Due to Unforeseen Events:
  • If we cancel the trek due to unexpected situations like natural disasters, floods, or political unrest, we will issue a trek voucher instead of a refund. This voucher is valid for one year and can be used for the same or a different trek.

     

Cancellation Due to Personal Reasons:

If you cancel your trek for personal reasons, the following policy applies:

  • No Cash Refunds: We do not provide cash refunds. Instead, a voucher will be issued.

  • Cancellation 30 Days or More Before Trek: A voucher for the full booking amount will be issued.

  • Cancellation 20–29 Days Before Trek: 50% of the booking amount will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be provided as a voucher.

  • Cancellation Less Than 20 Days Before Trek: No voucher will be issued.

How difficult is the Baradsar Lake Trek?

It is moderately difficult with some steep climbs and snow patches. Good physical fitness is required.

 

Is prior trekking experience needed?

Not mandatory, but helpful. First-timers with good fitness and mental strength can attempt this trek.

 

What is the best time to go?

Late May to June and September to October offer the best conditions. Avoid monsoon due to slippery trails.

 

What should I pack for the trek?

Yes, the trek is safe. Our team ensures proper guidance, medical support, and emergency assistance if required.

 

Is mobile network available on the trek?

Mobile network is available till Sankri or Bhitri. After that, connectivity is very limited.
